Restrictions worth knowing
- Chase 5/24 applies.
- Southwest bonuses are generally unavailable if you already hold a Southwest personal card or earned a Southwest bonus in the last 24 months.
- One report described the elevated Southwest offers as targeted at members opted in to Southwest emails; Chase's own page showed them publicly on 2 November 2026.
How to use it well
- The points from these bonuses count toward Companion Pass. Applications by 2 December 2026 are reported as the cut-off for the 2026 pass, even if you finish the spend in early 2027.
- A Companion Pass is worth far more than any of these bonuses if you fly Southwest regularly with a partner.
- Do not increase your spending to reach a threshold. The bonus is not worth interest.
