Airline card review
Hawaiian Airlines® World Elite Mastercard®
Closed to new applicants since October 2025. The open alternative for Atmos Rewards is the Atmos Rewards Ascent.
Status
Barclays removed the Hawaiian Airlines cards from new applications on 1 October 2025. Alaska's program materials say the card's name and benefits were unchanged by the Atmos Rewards merger, which suggests existing cardholders kept their cards. We could not confirm the current position for existing holders on an issuer page.

Earning rates
| Rate | On | Cap or condition |
|---|---|---|
| 3x | Eligible Alaska and Hawaiian purchases | From Alaska's own program announcement. |
Benefits and credits
- Two free checked bags On eligible flights, per Alaska's program announcement.
Restrictions worth knowing
- No new applications since 1 October 2025.
- Hawaiian's loyalty currency merged into Atmos Rewards, so earning and redemption now run through that program.
How to use it well
- If you hold this card, the two-bag benefit is the main reason to keep it; nothing in the current Atmos line-up matches it.
- For a card you can still apply for, the Atmos Rewards Ascent covers the same airlines.
Sources and freshness
What we checked: Closure to new applicants and the $99 fee from AwardWallet, read 2 November 2026. Earning rate and bag benefit from Alaska's own newsroom page. The two sources differ in emphasis: Alaska describes the card as continuing unchanged, while Barclays stopped new applications. Both can be true, and both are reported here.
