Benefits and credits
- Transfer partners Points move 1:1 to Chase's airline and hotel partners, which is where most of the value sits.
- Trip protections Trip cancellation and interruption cover, and primary car rental cover. Limits and exclusions apply.
- No foreign transaction fees
Restrictions worth knowing
- Chase 5/24 applies.
- Sapphire family rules: you generally cannot hold both Sapphire cards, and there is a waiting period after earning a Sapphire bonus.
How to use it well
- The 2x-on-travel and 3x-on-dining rates do most of the work. If your spending is concentrated elsewhere, a flat-rate card may return more.
- Use the live Chase transfer bonuses rather than portal redemptions when award space exists. Check the transfers page for current deadlines.
- If you start flying enough to use lounges, the Reserve is the upgrade path, but the fee jump is $700.
