Tool

Best Card Finder

Put in roughly what you spend each month and see which cards would earn the most on it, including the welcome bonus in year one.

Estimates, not cash. Points and miles have no fixed cash value. Everything this tool produces is arithmetic on the numbers you type and the assumptions listed below them. It is not a quote, not a valuation and not financial advice.

Monthly spending, in dollars. Leave anything at zero if it does not apply.

1.0 is roughly cash back. Raise it only if you reliably transfer points well.

Assumptions and limitations
  • Only cards whose earning rates we verified are ranked. On this build that is a minority of the directory, so the list is deliberately short.
  • Spending in a category a card does not cover is left out of that card's total rather than assumed to earn an unverified base rate.
  • Welcome bonuses are counted once, in year one. From year two the ranking would look different.
  • Point values are whatever you type. 1.0 cent is roughly cash back; anything above about 1.5 assumes you reliably find good partner redemptions, which many people never do.
  • Caps are shown on each card's review but are not modelled here. If you would blow through a $6,000 annual cap, this tool will overstate that card.
  • It cannot see annual fees you would not otherwise pay, approval odds, or issuer application rules like Chase 5/24.
